Hi, I'm currently an electric bassist and am going to be buying an upright fairly soon. I am most seriously considering the Bulgarian Bob Gullihur bass for many resons including that 5 strings are available. I have only played four strings and I really don't understand why 5's with a high C aren't much more popular. It seems the C would make it much easer to reach the upper ranges in walking and would be great for soloing (I'm into that sort of thing.) I can't imagine the C would get in the way of standard 4 string stuff at all either. But there has to be a reason more people haven't switched right? Please help, Thanks.
PS Even though Bob's bass looks great, if there are any other manufactures that make quality carved uprights for less then 3,000 I'd like to know, thanks.
