I have recently aquired an upright bass and would like to know how to identify it's make as it has nothing written anywhere on it.
it is all solid wood and looks very old. the fingerboard is missing as is the soundpost but the tailpiece(bridge?) is ebony as is the nut.
the sound board is cracked but cleanly so hopefully easy to repair
it has large chromed plates either side of the headstock under the machine heads
i am told that it is a 3/4 size.
it is my first upright although i have over 20 years experience playing electric bass guitar and hope to use it for bluegrass if i can get it up and running without major expence.
please help.
T.Taylor
