: For me the french bow is more articulate with a more "delicate" sound, whereas the german bow has more power and punch but not quite so articulate. Bowing with a German bow on the E string can be awkward, but gets much easier with practice and by tilting the bass slightly away from you when playing the e string.

: For me, I use both but primarily the German Bow, as it gives me the fullness of sound that I want. However, I find the french bow much more expressionfull.
