I have used an AKG C419 cliped to the tailpiece Had a nice warm sound even better with 2-3 Db of compression. It has a long enough gooseneck to experiment with positioning on the sound. I liked it best away from the f hole

JimC

PS they seem to have come up with a varient that might mount better the C416 with the same mic as the 419

: im looking for an easy-to-use mic for the upright bass, any experiences?
: what about golden trinity vs. AMT vs. Audio T. pro 35 vs. dynamic mics?
: what about feedback resistance and special preamps?
: thanks for the discussion: chris
