I'm selling my Svoboda that I got in Denver a few years back. The back and sides are fiberglass, and the rest is solid wood. Thinner than your average bass, and I like that, but I gig alot, I spend a lot of time outdoors in hot humid summers, and cold dry winters, and my bass suffers. I need something really rugged, good sounding and with a good fingerboard (I improvise with a bow up on the neck), and I don't want to spend too much more than what I get for the svoboda. . .which I'm hoping I can get $2000 for. Any ideas? Are plywood basses more rugged than solid? Is there any chance of getting a 5/8 or a 3/4 with a narrow neck and/or body?
