I bought a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V about 2 years ago... I got it for $600 used from a buddy rodgers. Its the '99 version and i thought it would be the best guitar i'd ever played on. Truth is i dont think it really sounds that great. Sure right when i get new strings it sounds great and twangy just how i like it, but after about 2 weeks the sound just dies. It sounds like the strings are very dead. Does anybody know what the problem is? I think it might be my strings, but i dont think they should die that quickly, and at 30 bucks a pop, buying strings every 2 weeks is a little expensive for my tastes. It seems to me that it might be the bass that makes the strings die so quickly, because i have a friend who has a warwick bass that cost him 500 new, and his strings stay alive for at least 3 months. Somebody please help!!!
