: : Try the Pirastro Obligato strings. They have a nylon core with a metal wrap and bow nicely. They also respond nicely for pizz and function really well if you have one bass to play with the orchestra and for jazz gigs. They cost $100.

Wouldn't the "Nylon core" strings sound a little less brilliant than "Steel core" strings? If harmonics are the objective, I would want the best set of "Steel core" strings I could afford; BTW, what's wrong with Dr. Thomastik "Spirocore" Strings, they sound brilliant for bowing harmonics, and have a nice sustain for pizzacato, even if their sound lacks the warmth of more expensive steel core strings, the warmth of nylon and gut strings notwithstanding.
