: : Are Kings more sought out and thus more expensive than Kays? I was told that they are much sturdier and better built than kays...anyone knows more about these instruments? Any websites with more info on them?

: I owned a King bass about 30 years ago and I can tell you it is the best bass I ever owned. I also had two Kays about the same time. The king bass was shaped more like a violin and somewhat larger than the Kay. It got smashed on a gig by a careless electrician who fell off a ladder. To this day I lament over that bass. I have a Czech bass and an Epiphone; good basses, but they don't even come close to the King. If you find one let me know. AA

i have 2 old kings nicely refurbished. i'd like to keep them both but one unfortunately has to go. also have a kay c-1 for sale-also excellent condition. i can send pics if interested.-joe
