See posts below in response to "help with locating a great 3/4 upright bass!"

Cremona basses have a terrible reputation. Buying the cheapest bass you can find is not a solution. Save up until you can afford something of acceptable quality and have a qualified luthier set the instrument up for you. You should budget about $1500 at the very least for a decent new instrument.

You might be able to find something used for less. Look for an old Kay that is beat up or even in pieces. They can be fixed up to play well and sound good even if they look like heck. You'll be much happier with such an instrument than with a Cremona.

: Has anyone have good or bad opinions they can share about the Cremona SB3 upright acoustic Bass or even the Palatino models..
: What would be a good student model to consider that won't break the budget.

: thank you
