I just ordered a new end pin for my upright bass. The old one had cracked at the tip. The new one is approximately 3/8 in smaller in circumference, so I have to shim about 1/16 inch. Is this too much? My old one only needed one layer of newspaper, and this one is going to need considerably more. Are all new pins smaller now, or can I find a larger one out there somewhere?
