: i'm looking for the best funk, slap or all around great sounding bass music. Like
: Jacos Mercy, mercy, mercy,

Bela Fleak and the Fleaktones: bassist Victor Wooten who has also done some solo albums. He has lifted slapping on a new level.

Tower of Power: Almost as funky as it gets. Bassist Francis Rocco Prestia is famous for his 16th note funk grooves.

Dave Weckl Band: Not so bass centered, but really groovy music. Check out record Rhythm of the Soul.

I hope this helps you.

P.S. Get any Victor Wooten video you'll drop your hair off when you see him play.

P.P.S. Some other players/bands you should check out:
Stanley Clarke, Primus, Stu Hamm, John Patitucci.
