It has been very frustrating to me the double or triple thumb bouncing technique used in some slapping licks. A good example
is Flea's intro to RHCP's version of "Higher ground", or just playing an eight-note triplet with the thumb followed by a
popped quarter note in octaves. I've tried and tried, and can't make the thumb attack sounds clear. Sometimes, when i'm
practicing, i can do it, but in a live situation the result is really dissapointing. The thumb bouncing by itself is not the problem.
It is to do the bounce followed by a pop. I know it takes a while but trust me, i'm talking about YEARS of frustration. I favor
the Stu Hamm style. Any suggestions (aside from selling my instrument and beginning to sell newspapers in the streets)?
