: which is easier to learn?

Hey Cindy, what's up?

Acoustic, or electric bass guitar is by far easier to learn(or more accuratly
practice on)due to the scale.Bass guitars, whether acoustic or electric usually
have a 34 inch scale.(the distance from the bridge to the nut)Some are shorter
and a few are longer, however, an upright bass usually has a scale between
41 and 44 inches, and the strings on an upright fight you every step of the
way compared to a bass guitar. Then there's the transportation issue.A concert
size upright can be over 6 ft tall.Try getting that in a cab.In musical theory
they have the same range, except for 5 and 6 string electrics, but, that's
another conversation entirely.By the way, I'm an electric player, not an
upright guy, at least for now.

Hope this helped
