: : which is easier to learn?

: Hey Cindy, what's up?

: Acoustic, or electric bass guitar is by far easier to learn(or more accuratly
: practice on)due to the scale.Bass guitars, whether acoustic or electric usually
: have a 34 inch scale.(the distance from the bridge to the nut)Some are shorter
: and a few are longer, however, an upright bass usually has a scale between
: 41 and 44 inches, and the strings on an upright fight you every step of the
: way compared to a bass guitar.Then there's the transportation issue.A concert
: size upright can be over 6 ft tall.Try getting that in a cab.In musical theory
: they have the same range, except for 5 and 6 string electrics, but, that's
: another conversation entirely.By the way, I'm an electric player, not an
: upright guy, at least for now.

: Hope this helped

Thanks for the response!
Could you recomend a good value in a a/e 4 string bass guitar that has good tone and volume un-plugged?
I was considering a new Fender BG-29.
Thanks again for your help!
