Yup. My Fodera 5 is currently strung up with a high C. I love it.
I'm going to get a hipshot extender key for my E string so I can
still get those low notes. I found that I wasn't using the low string
enough, so I went for the extended range upward. As Matt Garrison told
me, it's the poor man's 6 string! Seriously, I really think it's a good
thing if you don't find the low B exactly your thing. Make sure you get
a good set of strings for it. DO NOT just try to tune a 5 string set
higher. I don't want to think about what that might do to the neck of
your bass. Fodera makes an excellent string... i highly recommend thier
high C sets. Hope that helps...
