Hi and thanks in advance,
I've been playing (restate that "practicing") for about 8 months and noted that
bass playing is choppy - meaning that your can hear each note distinctly and
individually. It does not have the continuous note to note sound that I
have heard so often. For example, I've purchased Gary Willis's book on
Fingerboard Harmony and listened to the CD. My mouth dropped when I listened to
his lines moving with very little distinction or pause between notes.
My question is: does that come with time or maybe my techinque is wrong? I am
self taught so it is possible my technique is slightly incorrect. Also, I am 52
so I'm not as fast, and don't expect to be, as the younger players.
Any response would be helpful.
