: : Hey, did anyone catch the TV movie on the Beach Boys the other night?? I'm not a big fan of those made for tv movies but I have to admit my jaw hit the floor when they introduced some of the members of the "wrecking crew" with non other than Carol Kaye on bass. Of course it was an actress playing Carol's part but I thought that it was about time Carol gets the recognition she deserves FINALLY. I don't know how much of the actual story was true to form but I though it was very cool that the producers gave credit to where credit is due. Way to go Carol!!!!
: I saw it. Pretty cool. I just wonder if Brian really offered his gold records to the "wrecking crew" and if Murray Wilson really ruined the "Wouldn't It Be Nice?" sessions. But my favorite part was seeing Kaye and Blaine lay down the rhythm, no doubt. Funniest thing had to be watching "Charles Manson" doing his singer/songwriter schtick.
I saw it too!!!!! When I saw that Carol was in the rhythm section, and Jan and Dean introduced them as the Wrecking Crew, that was kinda cool! As well as they sounded, Carol looked kind of hot, don't you think? I don;t know about that gold record "giving away" scene, tho! But they did state clearly preceding the broadcast that some of the scenes were a little dramatized! But what the heck, it was great!!!!
