It also might be that the truss rod in your neck needs adjusting. Your best bet is to take it to a qualified repair shop and have it set up.
You might also see if you get the buzzing if you play a little lighter and point your right hand fingers toward the bridge. If that helps, you have a choice of remedies - change your technique or get your bass set up for your current style of playing.
