I have purposely sought the oddball jazz gig, qnd I have made myself available to play with a Big Band in the metro Atlanta area. I also play with a kickin (and I mean KICKIN!) Praise and Worship Band at my church. So I have put alot of diversity into my playing life. It is a struggle, tho, I must admit. MAybe in a dry time like this, you can go get an accompaniment CD for JAzz standard tunes or something, and work on your solo chops. Dunno - tough call to stay motivated, sometimes, isn't it?
