: Sorry, I hope this won't end up bein gone of those posts, but I need to get this off my chest. I know people are just looking for help, and maybe I take it to personally, but I get tired of reading requests for what seems to be the easiest and quickest way to learn bass. It's like "the band needs a bass player so I'm gonna pick up a bass and learn to play in a few days" because after all, it's just the bass.

: Being a good bass player and musician takes practice. You also should have instruction with a good teacher, and use proper method books and other materials that you might have to buy. You can't do it for free. Web sites are a great resource, but they are no substitute for a teacher.

: Don't get me wrong. There are many great posts on this site. Most of them are, actually. It's just a few of them that get to me. I have been playing bass for over 20 years, and I practiced for over an hour tonight. It's not easy, and I'm not perfect, even after all that time.

: I'm probably "preaching to the church" in here, but everyone says you'll feel better if you write it down. Please don't send me nasty emails, I just needed to vent a little. Thanks for listening.

Steve: Amen.
