Ed is right. You need to have a teacher to make that switch. It is a very different animal from the electric bass. If you insist on doing it yourself, at least get the Simandl Method book for Double Bass. For jazz, there's the Ray Brown method, and the Rufus Ried method.

But really, find a teacher. The only things similar are the string names and note names.
