In my opinion, a VERY accurate book about Latin bass lines is called The True Cuban Bass, and I unfortunately don't remember who published or wrote it. (Sher Music, maybe? Ask at a good music store..) It comes with a CD full of examples and written out lines and lots of great info.
The thing that seems most important to remember when playing Latin lines is to play on TOP of the beat. This means you want to play as fast you you can without rushing. It's a really tough thing to do, because you actually play very slightly before the beat. When you lock in though, you'll scare who hears you. :)
