I have used both the D'Addario's and the GHS Brite Flats. I strongly prefer the GHS Brite Flats because of a smoother feel and, therefore less finger/string noise. I also think the overall tone is more balanced, with good lows and decent highs when you need them. I have the GHS's on several basses, but I don't have a P bass. Nonetheless, the strings seem to work well on a couple of Ibanez 5-strings, and old Gibson EBO, and an even older Supro Pocket Bass.
