: : : ok...first of all, it's michael anthony, and second of all, he has got to be one of the all-time worst bass players of all time!! the very first time i picked a bass up, i played better than he did. You wanna get into a groove listen to some king's x or creed or something like that...or even 90's rush lays down a pretty rocking groove...eddie v.h. is a great guitar player, but the rest of that band shouldn't even be mentioned on a forum for players who want to play with skill
: I don't think it's "the worst bass player of the all-time". He is a bassist with a lot of weight in a song; I know that his way of playing isn't so spectacular but he is here supporting all the song. Eddie is a very good guitarist and when he is playing he uses a lot of technical resources but the song doesn't sounds empty. It is because of Mr. Anthony's work. Man, remember that one of the most important things that a bassist has to have written on his mind is that he is there to make the song sounds full!!. Creed's bassist has a very similar way of playing to Anthony' one...
It is not the job of the bassist to "make the song sound full" that's the job of the entire band working together. and yes, the songs did sound empty...they weren't very good, noy rbrn eddie's playing could save them. as for the mention about creed, yes, he is sort of similar..he's not very good either; the groove i was referring to was the groove mark tremonti (the guitar player) puts down...you can play the same riffs on bass and they absolutely rock.
