: At this guitar store in my town there's this bass pak with a squire bass, a 15 watt amp, a cord, a strap, and an instructional video all for $320...is this a godd price or are they screwing me? I want to know..I'm a beginner and looking for the right kinda stuff to get...thanks for your help!

They arn't "screwing" you but that is about average for Squier pricing.
first off, the amp is JUNK!.. the kid that lives next dorr to me played it in his bedroom (mostly WFO) and i shot craps in less than 2 weeks. Of course it was powerless and you HAD to play it WFO to even hear it, and the speaker couldn't take it..
Next, (IMHO) the neck on the Squire bass was warped like cupids bow.
I wouldn't recomend it. because inferior is still inferior at half the price.
I WOULD recomend shoping fo some good used stuff... it can be had. For a nephew's birthday ( yes, we uncles do give bass rigs to nephews) I found a Lotus P-bass copy. for $89.00 (probably punched out of the same mold as the squier) which actually played fairly well. then found an old Fender "Sidekick 100" 100w amp head AND matching 1x15 speaker cab for $150.00, a cheap tuner for $9. and a strap,( well you buy enough stuff the give those away).
and the kid had a good beginner rig for less than the lowley SquierPac.
I myself would shop around.
Good luck!
