Instead of learning other peoples lines, start delving into learning how to play
jazz, reading throgh chord changes, soloing off of 3rds, 5ths, 7ths, learning
the melody to jazz tunes, constructing good walking bass lines, etc.
I think you will find that jazz bass principles will take you to areas of
bass playing you never thought you could get to...
: Ok I've been playing for a while now. And I've noticed that what I'm playing isn't a challange, I've been playing a lot of Primus lately, I got Tommy the cat down to a science and i need a challange, wheather it be slap or plucking i dont care, so if someone could give me some ideas as to what i should play to challange myself, a band name or something, it would be appreaciated....
