: Yesterday I was jamming with my blues band when the guitarist said: "come on!. Make your solo!". And tried it but I don't get the correct feeling!!. Anyone knows songs with good blues bass solos or the way to do them?
: Thank you for your answers!. (Hey, El Pajaro; how is the hispanic site going?)
You can solo very easily over a blues progression if you use the right scales.
The easiest one is a minor blues scale - the notes from the bass lick on Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love".
If you use the same pattern, but start on the sixth (The sixth would be C# if you're in the Key of E; F# if you're in A), you'll get a more major sound to your solo. If you practice this and use your ear, you'll start to get some ideas for a killer solo!
