Hey Pajaro...

Well said...To simply call a style of music "Latin" is almost
meaningless...Just in Brazil there must be 100's of styles of
music and dozens of types of just Sambas!!! Jeez, Brazil is almost
as large as the U.S. and far more diverse geographically and
ethnically. I've been a fan of Brazilan music for many, many years
the music from this country is extremely dynamic. It's very difficult
to keep up with....

About "Latin" bassists....Don't forget guys like Arturo Sandoval's
ex-bassist Nicky Orta..They guy is a monster...Cachao is also
legendary, as is the Brazilian cat Toninho Horta. Check out
anything he did with Milton Nascimento...I LOVE that stuff!!
