: well , last week i bought a squire electric bass.... cheap and i guess a little cheesy to some but because im a beginner i thought i should start out that way im looking for lessons ..... did i make the right choice to start cheap ????? Please if you think so post a reply
Most people start out on inexpensive instruments. A squier has a shorter string length, which makes it a little easier to play. One
thing you really need to do is take your bass to a guitar repair center and have it set up so the the neck is as straight as possible and the action low as possible; a set of light gauge roundwound strings would bve nice, also. New Instruments NEVER are set up properly.
Once you have it set up, you'll see that it's infinitely easier to play.
