: i have been playing bass for about 6 months now, and i am about to start playing in a band. i'm having trouble with my fretting and slap bass technique, and have never practiced timing. i need some tips. any help would be appreciated. also, what is the best bass wah pedal? oh yeah, any cool riffs you could tell me would also be helpful :) catch ya

Hi there!!
Timing is almost the more important part in a bassist!!. There are a lot of ways to practice your time, but the better of all of them is playing along with a metronome. Believe me; it works
There are a lot of different pedals for bass and all of them CAN (but don't necessary have to) rock. It depends of the song, the moment, the feeling, etc...Chorus is a good effect for bass but it can bore too. Remember that the bass is there to carry with the weight of the song so , don't try to be soloing all the time...Use the pedals to create atmosphere and your ban will thank you a lot
Hope this helped and Enjoy life as it was your music!!
