Hey Gang...In response to the question below about the Ampeg
amp...If you have an old Ampeg, or you see one in the local
paper or pawn shop, don't be scared away because of the
7027 output tubes...The 7027 is EXACTLY the same as a
6L6 tube, except for pinout and cosmetics which make
NO DIFFERENCE! If you look at the chart for a 6L6 and
a 7027, you will find the specs to be identical. Also,
MANY of the older Ampegs will run on just about ANY output
tube including the EL-34 with a couple of quick mods and
a re-bias. So if your Ampeg isn't sounding good, try a
new set of tubes and a re-bias. (This goes for ANY tube
amp) Do this before you get rid of the amp..( If you don't
understand tube amp repair, take it to a tech..Ampegs
run very high plate voltages which can be fatal!)
Ampegs were actually very well built, and have a
GREAT sound...I use mine in the studio, there's nothing
like the sound of an all tube amp for warm tone...

Cheers,

Pat H
