I have an earlier American Jazz Deluxe...early 90's, maybe...and I know it's a heavy bastard! I love the sound. I believe the newer Fenders are a bit smaller and lighter, I noticed that, for example, the tuning machines are part plastic in order to cut down on the weight.
Modulus and Fender make very different-sounding basses....you should really play each enough to decide for yourself.
Good Luck!

: Hey all! here's a question that i've been thinking about and need some opinions on..anyone who knows about these basses please reply!! I'm trying decide wether or not to invest in a Modulus VJ-4 stringer or a Fender American Deluxe Jazz...
: I know they are both excellent jazz bass guitars but i wonder if there is any noticable differences between the two wether it be in electronics or size...
: any replies would be very helpful!
: Thanks,
: Brock
