: Bassists of the world,
: After having my current amp checked out to find it was no good, im searching for the perfect amp in my price range... A good loud amp, preferably 50 or more watts and a big enough speaker, between 250$ and 350$. I've been doing my own research and have tried out many amps, and ive come to the PeaveyTKO115S amp, and thinking about buying it. Also, i was impressed by the Hartke line, but most were beyond my price range... The Peavey is 350$, and would give me the sound and loudness i need. But before i make a purchase (which probably wont be for a while with my current earnings) does anyone know anything about these particular amps and their quality? Are there any particular amps that would be a better deal in this price range? Well I would appreciate any suggestions on good loud amps in this range. ---Also--- Hey Pat H. thanks for your input on the old ampeg, turns out the amp was transistors, an old B-100 with the serial number 144563 (if that says anything). I took it in to the local guitar shop, the guy told me there wasnt too much wrong with it and
that it wasnt made to go up too much louder than that anyway, so hell. Im not sure if i completely trust his opinion, but oh well thanks anyway. So now i have a practice amp, but still need an upgrade... well thanks bass people for your help, its appreciated..... peace + love , chris
Sorry to hear about that Ampeg...
I don't know much about those transistorized ones....
I used to have a PEAVEY TKO-65....That was one LOUD little
amp!!! The thing just CRANKED!!...I be the 115 has even
more guts....Peavey makes good honest stuff with realistic
power ratings..I think the TKO's are older models...Mine
was probably an early 80's model as I recall...The new
Peavey white faced amps I tried at the last NAMM show
were pretty impressive!!..
