: Bassists of the world,
: After having my current amp checked out to find it was no good, im searching for the perfect amp in my price range... A good loud amp, preferably 50 or more watts and a big enough speaker, between 250$ and 350$. I've been doing my own research and have tried out many amps, and ive come to the PeaveyTKO115S amp, and thinking about buying it. Also, i was impressed by the Hartke line, but most were beyond my price range... The Peavey is 350$, and would give me the sound and loudness i need. But before i make a purchase (which probably wont be for a while with my current earnings) does anyone know anything about these particular amps and their quality? Are there any particular amps that would be a better deal in this price range? Well I would appreciate any suggestions on good loud amps in this range. ---Also--- Hey Pat H. thanks for your input on the old ampeg, turns out the amp was transistors, an old B-100 with the serial number 144563 (if that says anything). I took it in to the local guitar shop, the guy told me there wasnt too much wrong with it and that it wasnt made to go up too much louder than that anyway, so hell. Im not sure if i completely trust his opinion, but oh well thanks anyway. So now i have a practice amp, but still need an upgrade... well thanks bass people for your help, its appreciated..... peace + love , chris
Hey...I was just amp shopping, and if I hadn't gotten the great deal on my Roland DB-500 (review on this board soon), I would have bopught a Peavey. They are ghood clean amps, and for their size and price, THE LOUDEST amps on the market. They just boost. You would be amazed how loud a 150 watt amp with a Black Widow 15" can BOOST! If you add a Four ohm Extension cab, They're even LOUDER! The tone is clean and solid, and the Eq's makes 'em pretty versatile. I Beleive the TKO has a Sheffeild speaker, which is a very nice speaker, well constructed and powerful. for my money, Peavey's are awesome deals, and Definitley worth $350. That's my two cents.
