actually i do have a band, and yeah i've definitely played in gigs, the last one being dec 23. Although, that is, not with MY band. it was actually with members of an old band i had. The guitarist i play with is actually one of the most creative people i've seen play. the dude has just volumes of originals. Ever since this summer when we started jammin together all i want to do is make my own stuff. Seriously, thats one of the few ways you can become respected as a REAL musician. Anyway, i got my hands on an electric/acoustic Fender BG-29 4 stringer for $670 something after some serious searching (and comparing to more expensive models that really sucked)and i just love it. I still play it every single day...it's my favorite guitar. The thing is this guy plays a lot of acoustic stuff which i think is really cool.. it just happens to go hand in hand.. Back to the tribute bands though- I think there are even tribute bands that are ok, but i think that its important for bass players and bands in general to have that desire to become the best, and i think trying to imitate a band that already exists is not the way to go. If its short term, than...o..k, but those guys that want to be "That Band" i just don't support.
