: : Greetings all! I have a Dean Edge 6 string fretless that came with roundwound strings and I'm trying to replace them with flat wounds. My scale length is 35" which puts me in the "extra long" or "super long" sets of strings. (Not your typical "long scale" for 34" scale basses.) I've checked D'Addario, GHS, Ernie Ball and a host of other sites for a set of 6 string flat wound strings but have come away empty handed. I know I can piece together a set (buy a 4 or 5 string set of flats then add a low B or high C string) but I'd rather avoid that if possible. Does anyone know of a string maker that has a set of 6 string flatwounds for 35" scales in a meduim/medium light gauge (.32-.130 usually) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! JDP
Years ago,i had a Fender 5 string fretless, and my dealer got the flatwounds from GHS(supposedly, they have a custom shop).Maybe things have changed, but try a different music store,or try contacting GHS directly.Hope i was of help.
Peace,and keep on groovin'
