: Sorry for being so corny, but...
: Hi! I'm new here!

: The reason I came in search of a message board is this:
: When I'm playing down low for a few minutes my left hand gets really cramped. Am I alone, and is there any advice you can offer to fix this?

Yeah; I'm agree with our friend El Pajaro. Hand injuries are one of the worst problem of stringed instruments players. I think that I'll never bore myself to repeat that ALL of us have to warm up before playing.
Begin doing arm warming-up exercises (yeah; while playing muscles of all your arm get implicated, believe me...). Stretching it is good. When you are done with your arm, start with your wrist. I usually choose a scale and play it up and down for about ten or fifteen minutes. That should help you to playing more comfortable.
Enjoy life as it was your music!!
