: Hey there,
: I recently read a book on guitar which listed several influential guitarist and their accomplishments and to my surprise this guitar-focused book also listed Jaco and Stanley Clark. The blurb on Jaco said he died outside of a nightclub as the result of a violent incident. Does anyone know the details of what happened? I'm not trying to be morbid I'm just the curious type and after buying a couple of CD's featuring his playing I need to know why he was taken from us, it's really disturbing. The same blurb said he had problems with drugs so maybe it was drug related? Grasshopper seeks knowlegde.
: Thanks again to those who replied to my Carvin Bass question. I followed your advice and went to music stores trying out all kinds of basses and ended up bonding with a Warwick Corvette after trying about 10 different Corvettes at 3 different stores. It's so well made, easy to play, and the wood so attractive and dense(bubinga body) I just fell in love with the thing. It's so heavy and sturdy I think it would be equally effective as a medevil weapon and for some reason that appealed to me, I like jazz so go figure.
: For an intro to Jaco check out www.bassically.net and www.aic.se/basslob They both have quite a bit of stuff on him - especially the bass lobster site. Enjoy! JDP
