Well; I only have one quote for this; don't concentrate on your movements: let them rise!!. I mean, you can't control every step you made in a show but when you feel that you have to start to jump and move everywhere then move!!. As easy as it sounds.
Another thing; dancing helps you a lot because you get a very good rythm sense so you can keep the beat wit all your body instead with the usual foot-tap...
About not looking at the fretboard my advice is clear: STOP staring at your bass' neck. It's there and it won't move, believe me!!. I think that it's a good thing to look to your band mates; to the public; to the exhuberant blonde girl who's sitt...er... Well; it will help the band a lot if you can take care of all of your band mates as if you were the "captain" of the band...To know the fretboard I always play without light in my house. I can concentrate better if it's dark and I can't see the frets. Playing in a dark room when there is a storm outside doesn't help you so much but it's so impressive...Vow; Men, try this. It really makes me feel as I was playing in my own video clip...
