: Hey guys, I have a few questions....first of all, I want to know if an Ibanez bass would work good enough plugged into a Fender amp. Also, I need to know how good the sound is out of a 25 watt fender amp. I have my eye on a Gsr200, with a Fender amp. And another question I have which may sound quite stupid to all you experts, but are electric guitar cables the same cables you use to plug in a bass? Well, thanks alot for all your help!
You're going to find very quickly that 25 watts isn't enough, unless you are practicing by yourself. Bass sounds are very "heavy" and a lot of watts are needed to move the speakers. I play through a 200-watt amp and our lead guitarist is louder at half the wattage, dialed to a lower volume setting. You would get an excellent sound in my view but couldn't do more than practice. And the cables are the same. Just be sure to get instrument rather than speaker cables, which look the same. Michael.
