: : If I'm reading the original post right, I think this Carvin head actually
: : has a two separate amps putting out 250 watts each at 4 ohms per side..
: : My Eden WT-800 is like this, 400W + 400W @4ohms....If you run 8 ohm
: : loads (speakers) on a amplifier rated for 4 ohms (in this case 2 separate
: : amplifiers) the Amps are not operating at rated output (in watts), and
: : therefore not as efficiently, probably at about HALF the claimed amount
: : of watts...Maybe some of the more technical list members can clear
: : this up, or as I suggested, Carvin has a help line that you can call
: : for more info....Still, I don't think the distortion problem rests
: : solely with the speakers themselves...

: He said "2 4x10 8 ohmes each". Does he mean each amp has 2 cabs on it or does he mean that his 2 cabs each have 8 ohms.
: That's where we're getting confused.
: pkeeg?

Sorry for the confusion. Each box is 8 ohms and I have one box to each side so instead of the 250 watts per side I'de get at 4 ohmes I might be getting maybe 175 watts per side. I'm not running the head biamp (different signal each side) but with the same signal out of both (I couldn't see the point as both the boxes are the same. Thanks.
