: Hey guys, I have a few questions....first of all, I want to know if an Ibanez bass would work good enough plugged into a Fender amp. Also, I need to know how good the sound is out of a 25 watt fender amp. I have my eye on a Gsr200, with a Fender amp. And another question I have which may sound quite stupid to all you experts, but are electric guitar cables the same cables you use to plug in a bass? Well, thanks alot for all your help!
These are all good questions, not stupid at all. We all were beginners at one point. It is those of us(thankfully nobody on this page) who scorn the new beginners, forgetting our past, that truelly have nothing worthwhile to contribute. That being said, lets talk about your amp. Your Ibenez should sound fine through the fender. 25watts is not an exceptionally powerful amp, but the type if instrument to amp doesnt make a whole lot of differance. Heck, I played through a 20 watt marshall for 10 years! As long as the amp is is fine working order and the speaker is O.K. it'll be fine. You will know when it is time to upgrade. You dont become any more proficiant on an instrument simply by playing through a 400 watt head(certain exceptions can apply). Sounds like you have a great start at a life long love......keep the faith.......late........john
