After many years I've decided to sell my XL's. They are as follows, please remember that since the shut down of production by Gibson, prices of these magnificent instruments are soaring!
1984 Black XL2 w/gigbag. I've owned this from new and it's in MINT condition.
Snap in knee rest, not the flip down. This part alone is worth $250 in todays market. A perfect example of a very early Newburgh production. Controls: Volume/Volume/Tone, this is a very mellow (Jazzbass) like circuit that can be boosted to glasslike top end. Very cool and possible the best EARLY Newburgh is existence. Gigbag is new, Anvil case for below is also available for extra cost. All original (except strings). BEST OFFER OVER $3,000.
1990(est) White XL2 w/matching (White) Anvil Case. White is much rarer than the standard black and with an original matching Anvil is even rarer! This bass has the familiar Folding Leg Rest but has a much hotter tone circuit. THIS BABY BARKS!!!! Controls: Volume/Treble(boost/cut)/Bass(boost/cut). This bass is in Very Good Condition but honestly does have a couple of very small dings. These imperfections are easily (and cheaply) 100% repairable. And no I didn't do it, the idiot first owner did. With an appropriate deposit I will have the touchup work done and guarantee COMPLETE SATISFACTION or you can walkaway with your deposit back! This is a "hotter" sounding bass than my black XL but can be backed down for a sweet mellow tone, perfect for someone looking for a very versatle bass. Again, all original. BEST OFFER OVER $2,500.
