: Hi All, I guess it's about time I intoduced myself. My name is john, I have been playing for 20 years, I live in California and my main hobby besides bass is building basses(or tearing the ones if got apart) I have about 5 basses that i constantly interchange parts on...rebuild.....kind of like Mr Potato Head basses....anyway thats enough on me. What I really wanted to say to you all, is that I am very grateful to come back to this sight day after day and find that the genuine helpfullness and integrity still remain. This is one of the best(I think THE best) sights out there, and I look forward to sharing any help I can give as well as expieriencing what we all love and breath..........BASS!......late.........john

hey John........I haven't been lurking here very long.....maybe a couple of months, but you are very correct on your description of this place. It is very nice to have a place where we can share thoughts, agree, disagree, compromise , .......I've been playin 15 years and I am very envious of your ability to f@#k with your basses. (dig the potato head idea) I've studied bass for a long time and I'm still terrified at the idea of messin with my basses. I know it sounds strange but I just get this uneasy feeling when it comes to working on my bass. The even stranger part is that I'm actually a technical type person. I repair pinball machines, jukeboxes, video games...etc, and I get very anal about my basses. The few times I did adjust them I got all crazy and took it to my tech anyway. I suspect it is simply because I don't know what I'm doing and I've learned a few lessons messin' with stuff you don't understand.......peace
