: I have a DC-3 Danelectro....and I frankly love the way it plays, actually I use it to practice on over my Fender Stu Hamm cause it is longer scale and alot more challenging also......as far as tone...I am one frim believer that tone is a combination of things...and I think that if you like what you are playing I don't know unless you really go up the scale of quality it matters....but if you want to be sure, just take your guitar to the Music Store, and plug one in right after the other and get a feel for the sound and the playablity of each guitar..that is the best way to get a feel for the sound you are seeking....but as far as the Dan.....I like mine, and will never get ride of it....just unique enough to have fun with, and still playable.....

Thanks. Actually I was concerned that there is only 1 review of the Hodad as far as I know, and I thought this might indicate a lack of interest or acceptance. The June 2000 Bass Player review is confusing: The reviewer seems almost estatic but the numbers assigned aren't particularly high. You're right, I should bring one of mine in and compare.
