: Hey again, my friends!
: I was very busy lately so I had the board a little bit gone but I'm glad to say hello again :o).
: Last night I was hearing "Birland" from weather report and I heard that rockin' line that Jaco made with harmonics at the intro of the song. I tried to do it but I couldn't.
: My question is this: How the hell can I hit the string hard enough so I can get my "forced" harmonic as loud as him (I know, he's Jaco but I'll try it anyway...)?. Someone told me to use the my middle finger to hit the string as I "play" the harmonic with the right thumb what it seemed so difficult!!
: Any comentaries would be very , VERY apreciated...
: Thank you people and hello again

¿Qué pasa, compadre? (Allright, let's keep it English from now on...)
Humm ..."Bridland" ...Well, looks like we're walking into sacred territory here ...however, the advice you've been given sounds correct as far as the use of the right thumb goes. One suggestion, though: try to pluck the string with your right pinkie, directly over the bridge pickup (I'm assuming you're soloing the bridge pickup to get a more "jaco" tone. You should get a stronger sound that way ...just a thought.
Buena suerte and keep that bass up front in the mix,

El Pájaro
