: Oh, yeah; I know. The truss rod is what we call the "alma" of the neck ("alma" in spanish means "soul"; beautifil; isn't it?). In my local store there is something similar to a tech but he isn't exactly a guitar tech so I don't know.

: I thought to buy the gecko and mount it with the help of my father, who knows a lot about solding and carving.

: There is another thing that I am not very sure: Bartolini or Seimour Duncan?. I heard good things about both but I don't know what to choose.

: Also; a five or a six?. What do you recommend?.

: Thank you for your post, Datsgor and for your offering of help...

Yea, right on, if your father knows that stuff then you got nothing to fear...go for it. Hmmmm, the old 5 or 6 string question......well I have played nothing but 4 strings for 20 years and am only going to the 6 because I like to play chord stuff so much that i went for it. I will string it E A D G C F so i can get really high. I really dont have a need for the B string. If I want to go lower I just tune down. As for you though....its your own choice, think about what you want. The price difference isnt too much, but maybe you want to go for that 6th string now more than later. I wish i could tell you.......but you will have to decide. enjoy.......john..oh one more thing...I prefer the seymore duncan phase I's. they are a bit warmer..not so clicky......you really cant go wrong with bartolini or seymore.......again your choice...talk to the guy at Warmoth...maybe he can pick your brain and give you a choice........peace
