: Hey all, looking at basses to buy and i came across the beatiful curbow series by Cort. Nice looking and sounding basses, fell in love with one down at Mars, the deal looks too good to be true. Only 370$ for a blue finished curbow 4 string, and the sound is so great. But does anyone know anything more about these basses? i loved the punch i can get with slap/ pop on this bass, but the bass doesnt rest well on my knee because of its strange shape. Can live with that. Im used to fret inlays on the fretboard but who cares right? As with any change i will grow used to it. Would it be worth it to buy this bass and save a buck or two, or should i go for something else? Well any input is greatly appreciated. PEACE N LOVE - chris

Great price! But the important thing is this - do YOU like it? What do YOU feel when you pick it up? Cort basses are good basses and I would not be afraid to buy one sight unseen, because I know what quality instruments they are... When I bought my Alembic Epic 5 string, a few bass playing friends tried to dissuade me because they did not like that Alembic sound. But when I picked it up to play, it was pure magic. The bottom end, the punch, that wonderfully wooden, clear tone!!!!! It was love. And it still is. But my point is - that bass had the sound I had been looking for all my musical life... MY sound. If the Cort bass you mention does that to you, don't listen to anyone else. Get it. Rest assured - construction wise, you will not be making a mistake. THey are very well made basses.
