: Well...Im sorry to bust in on you guys and stuff but i have a question to ask...see.Curently i am a drummer for my local band here in Nevada but i am really interested in getting to a bass. Drums...sadly enough...have become boring for me..So i need something new and the bass is something i think i can work well with. Can u guys tell me what i need to do to get started and stuff...and how u personally got into bass playing?
: Thank u all,
Aaron...I started playing the bass after getting into the drums and finding out what an expensive instrument I had chosen. Naturally bass was the only other choice for me since I have always listened to music at the rythmic level(bass is really all i listen to in music) You would be surprised how many Zeppelin and such guitar parts I could'nt recall. Anyway, you should be able to sell or trade your drums for the bass bassics. Namely a Bass and an Amp. Try Fender and Ibanez for some quality low priced basses. As for amplifiers, someone else can probably recommend some newer stuff, I have been out of the amp buying circuit for quite a while. I also advise seeking out a teacher for the fudamentals. Bulding a solid foundation with good habits and learning all you can about music thoery will send you well on your way to a lifetime full of fulfillment and pleasure with your new instrument. Enjoy your new path......peace..........john
