: I was hoping that some of you hip bass guys out there might be able to give me some advice...
: I have a bass that I might want to sell. But I figure that if I can't get pretty decent money for it (at least $600 or so), then I will just keep it. I don't play anymore - but who knows?
: how much is firewood going for these days???
: The bass is a Gibson "Ripper" (Remember you promised not to laugh). I always thought it was a really great sounding bass - punchy, clean, and not twangy. But it seems like they never really got that popular - I don't know why.
: It's a four-string bass with frets and has all the original electronics - has not been modified.
: The interesting thing about this particular bass is that it has hardly been played. I got it in about 1985 when another Ripper I had was stolen and the insurance company came up with a replacement. Since then I haven't been playing much at all.
: Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what this particular instrument might be worth, who might want to buy it, etc. Any info/input you have to offer would be appreciated.
